Location
All of the images I took of the model were situated in a photo studio with a green screen and studio lighting. The reason I chose this location was because I wanted to achieve the impression of a professional photoshoot so I took my images like how most typical magazine covers are shot. The lighting I used was very bight and exposed because I wanted my model to appear to be the centre of attention. However, for my contents page image I used less lighting as it was a moodier shot; therefore, using darker light represented the atmosphere.
Props
The only prop I used throughout my photoshoot was a chair. The reason I decided to use this was so that I got different arrangements of photos; therefore, giving me the options to choose from a variety of looks, as opposed to 3 images looking very similar with the same set up. I shot a range of images with the chair, including ones of her kicking it over to give the implication of the artist having an attitude etc. However, as they were photos of her in motion the majority of these were blurry; therefore if I was to do this again I would change the camera settings to ensure they weren't blurred.
Costume
I used a range of looks during my photoshoot, but I wanted them to all have the theme of black and denim. These included- a plain black top, blue denim dungarees and plain black top, blue denim dress on its own and with a black leather jacket. I also used a range of makeup and hair looks as I knew I wanted close up shots so I wanted her appearance to vary in each. I used a dark purple lipstick to connote a more vampy, fun look and then a more natural colour which implies being more serious and classy. With these looks I also changed her hair, for the dark lipstick I chose for my model to have her hair up (spacebuns) which connotes a more alternative and immature look. Then for the more natural look, her hair was down and looked natural, again suggesting maturity. The reason for doing this is because it relates to the feature article- her working, managing and producing (more mature) and then to oppose this, her performing and going out (more immature).
